Scenario

A technician installed a new 1TB NVMe SSD in M.2 Slot 2 of an office desktop that is being reimaged. Windows Setup, booted from USB, shows no drives to install to, and the firmware lists M.2 Slot 2 as "Not Detected." The previous technician disabled unused ports "for security" and experimented with RAID. No RAID array is in use. In firmware setup, fix the storage configuration so that: • The new SSD's slot is enabled. • The storage controller hands each drive straight to Windows, with no RAID layer. • NVMe drives aren't hidden behind Intel VMD.
