What is Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH) Batteries?

An improved battery technology over Nickel-Cadmium that offered higher capacity and reduced memory effect, but still could not match the energy density and performance of lithium-based batteries.

What are Nickel-Metal Hydride Batteries?

Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH) batteries represented an improvement over NiCd technology, offering higher capacity and reduced memory effect. However, they still could not match the energy density and performance characteristics of lithium-based technologies. You may occasionally encounter NiMH batteries in older laptops and some rechargeable battery packs.

While no longer common in new mobile devices, understanding legacy battery technologies like NiMH helps when supporting older equipment.
