Performance-Based Question
SimulationTroubleshoot the Missing NVMe Drive
(OBJ.3.5)
Scenario
A technician installed a new 1TB NVMe SSD in M.2 Slot 2 of an office desktop to add storage space. After reassembly, the drive does not appear in Windows Disk Management, and the firmware storage list shows nothing in that slot. A previous technician is known to have disabled unused ports "for security" and experimented with RAID before leaving the company. No RAID array is in use on this machine. Enter the firmware setup and correct the storage configuration so that: • The M.2 slot the new SSD occupies is powered on. • The storage controller presents each drive directly to the operating system rather than through a RAID controller. • NVMe drives are not remapped behind the volume-management (VMD) feature, since no RAID array exists and Windows would need extra drivers to see them. Make only the changes required, then submit your configuration.
